About the EAS - Student Group PDF Print E-mail

Hello and thank you for visiting the European Aquaculture Society Student Group (EAS-SG) website. Founded in May 2005 in Norway, EAS-SG is developing into one of the major aquacultural student organizations. EAS-SG is a group bringing together students and young professionals in aquaculture and related fields from more than 20 countries.

Our vision

EAS-SG has the vision to bring together both young aquaculturists and Master/Doctoral students from across aquatic disciplines and around the world to create an online global community. EAS-SG has four central aims:

  • To increase the participation of young persons in EAS activities
  • To gather and exchange information related to the diverse fields of research
  • To share work experiences in the sector
  • To voice student and young persons’ concerns
To do this, we organize activities like workshops and international meetings.

Our mission

  • "To promote aquaculture among young persons and students in higher education institutions, to encourage the cooperation and exchange of ideas among aquaculture students and to promote mobility for aquaculture students and young persons who wish to work in aquaculture and related subjects within Europe."

Be part of a global community....

EAS-SG is still in an early phase of development. We would really appreciate your help to build a global community of young persons working in the field of aquaculture. Please spread the news around your university or company. Contact us and tell us who we should send information to at your institution.

It is important to us that EAS-SG grows from suggestions from the community itself. You can expect to see EAS-SG continue to grow and develop. If you have any suggestions please let us know.

We hope you enjoy and benefit from The EAS Student Group.

Best Wishes,

Magdolna, Stefan, Anamaria, Benedikt and Guerrino
The EAS-SG Executive Board
