NACEE Conference of Young Researchers

nacee conference

We are pleased to announce that the Second NACEE Conference of Young Researchers will take place in Szarvas, Hungary on 30-31 August 2010.

The conference will be hosted by the Coordinating Institution of  Network of Aquaculture Centres in Central and Eastern Europe (NACEE),  the Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation (HAKI).

Objectives of the conference:

  • To provide a forum for young researchers from Eastern and Western Europe where they can get acquainted with each others’ work and exchange their ideas;
  • To establish closer ties between young researchers from Eastern and Western Europe and promote networking among them, which should ultimately lead to closer cooperation between their institutions and initiation of joint projects;
  • To promote mobility of young researchers by allowing them to visit different NACEE centres and familiarize themselves with their scientific work; and
  • To offer an additional publication opportunity for young researchers.

Organizing committee:

Dr. Laszlo Varadi (Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation, Hungary)

Mr. Peter Lengyel (Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation, Hungary)

Ms. Emese Bekefi (Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation, Hungary)

Participation:

Researchers not older than 40 years approved by their institution and speaking English on an acceptable level can participate in the Conference. As decided at the Fifth Meeting of the Board of Directors of NACEE, each member institution of the Network should try to delegate and finance at least one young researcher’s participation.

NACEE member institutions are requested to circulate this information among other interested institutions in their respective countries.

The Student Group of the European Aquaculture Society (EAS-SG) promotes the participation of its members in the Conference. Participation of young researchers from any other institution meeting these criteria is encouraged as well.
